Make dirt a distant memory!
This tingly, minty face and body mask
was formulated to be intensely cleansing but never harsh or abrasive. Kaolin
clay and peppermint oil rid your pores of debris, giving you a delightfully
tingly clean sensation. We add loads of ground aduki beans to exfoliate flaky
or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe and
moisturize.
That's what written on Lush website
and I absolutely agree with that. Let me introduce you to this badass and what
it does on my face. As you guys know, if you read my previous post, I have a quite horrible acne
these few years. With that experience, I learned how to take care of my skin. I
love using face mask since then and I saw a great feedback from my skin so here
I am sharing my favorite mask I have been using regularly for approximately a
month. I couldn't say that this is the first time I used this as I have ever
purchase the share in jar size and ended up liking it but too bad Lush haven't
set their foot in Indonesia yet so I have to find this in online shop. My
friend ever buy this in online shop but turns out that it was fake, yeah, there
are tons of fake products and the price wasn't even cheap, as for the online
shop from which I purchase the share in jar size didn't sell the full size so
it was hard for me to repurchase it again and when I am in that "searching
state" comes a hero coworker sells this product which is directly
bought from Japan. Without so much consideration I bought it from him and
received this mask a few days after that.
So here what it looks like.
The Ingredients:
Honey (Honey/Miel) Kaolin
Bentone Gel (Hectorite) Talc Glycerine Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus Angularis)
Evening Primrose Seeds (Oenothera biennis) Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita)
African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia)
*Limonene Fragrance Chlorophyllin (Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex) *Occurs
naturally in essential oils
(Everything was written in Japanese)
(The yellow sticker shows when and who made it with expire date. Thanks Malli!)
Fyi, there are two version of this mask, the Self Preserve, with honey added in
it and Fresh one, with no honey. Mine was Self Preserve. As what I read in some reviews, there are no
difference in usage and results between this two. It just Self Preserve (SP) last more longer, easier to apply (because of the honey) and more suitable
for sensitive skin.
How to use: Apply the mask all over
your skin. Leave for 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water, massaging as
you wash it. Well, being a rebel I am, I never use warm water and leave it on
about 30 minutes sometimes. I have a combination oily face and I guess 30
minutes is okay for my skin but if you have sensitive or dry skin, better stick
to the directions.
(There goes the aduki beans. It may looks big but it was not harsh on the skin)
The texture of the mask is kinda
sticky, creamy but not heavy on the skin. With some aduki beans, this mask
exfoliate the skin. I have to admit at first when I dab a little of the mask I
think that this scrub can be a little harsh but turns out it was gentle on the
skin as you wash it.
I usually store this mask in
refrigerator, this is optional thou, I just love how cool it feels on my face.
If you didn't store it in refrigerator you can still feel that tingly or cooling
sensation too but I personally love it fresh from refrigerator because it is
relaxing to have this cool badass sits on your face. As for the fragrance, this mask
reminds me of chocolate mint ice cream *yum*. I am not a mint hater but if you
hate mints or tingling sensation, this mask is probably not for you. The mint
fragrance and the tingling sensation didn't last long thou. I use this mask all
over the face, 2-3 times a week.
( a zoom in picture on how this badass sits on my face)
What I feel after rinsing this mask is fresh
and clean face. This mask was a deep cleansing mask so if you have dry skin
maybe you can use it 1-2 a week just in case your skin feels tight after using
it. I don't feel the pores gets smaller but I do notice that my acne scars fade
slightly. My skin also feels as soft as baby's butts.
So after using this for a month, I can
proudly say that this mask will be my favorite from now on.
What I love from this mask are the mint
cool sensation and the smell, I am not a fan of mint but having a mint face
mask on your face feels so nice. It gives me that relaxing and refreshing
effect. This mask also doesn't break my skin out which is a good point for an acne fighter like me. You
don't want to have a new acne form on your face, do you? This mask also calm
the redness on my skin although you have to use it regularly to see the result.
It fades my acne scars too but not instant due to the natural ingredients. I
believe that natural ingredients are more safe to the skin although it doesn't
give a quick result. So keep in mind that if you are using natural ingredients
product, you have to be patient. And, natural ingredients products have short lifetime. This mask can only be used for 3 or 4 months.
Although this mask is my favorite, but
still I have some things that I don't like from it. Well, nobody is perfect
even a face mask. What I dislike from this mask are the
messy application. I have lots of baby hair especially in my forehead, so
whenever I use this mask, some of the mask keep glued on my baby hair which I
find it annoying. It was not hard to remove but still I find that annoying.
This mask may be classified as deep cleansing mask but I didn't find my pores
minimize and the blackheads are still there. So I think the deep cleansing
didn't work on my skin?
Overall, this mask is great for those
who have breakout skin or troubled skin. If you have non troubled or normal
skin, you will find this mask works so so on your face. I highly recommend this
mask to them who have troubled skin and is a natural ingredient fan or against
animal testing supporter oh and for acne fighters.
Will I repurchase this? Of course yes
even though this mask is still difficult to find in Indonesia.
